Kaiāwhina Hauora

The Kaiāwhina Hauora (Primary Care Assistant) is part of the primary care team and supports the delivery of quality healthcare to whānau. The role involves hands-on clinical support during consultations and procedures with whānau as well as sterilising equipment, cleaning, maintaining stock and supply levels, recalling whānau for medical procedures and a variety of other clinical duties.

The role also includes administrative duties such as updating clinical records, claiming, compliance activities, responding to information requests and queries, and reception/phone cover as required. So being organised and able to manage competing demands is essential.

Based at our Te Aroha Whānau Health Centre, this full time role is a great opportunity for someone thinking about a career as a health professional. Previous experience in a clinical environment is an advantage - as is a great attitude and willingness to learn. Computer literacy and being able to use Microsoft Office software is a prerequisite.
