We seek a worker who has recently qualified in a field that can obtain registration as a health care practitioner under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, to join our team as Mental Health Practitioner - Graduate at Tu Ora Compass Health based in Porirua, Kapiti, Wairarapa, Wellington.

The purpose of the position is to build the capacity within the mental health services to expand services offerings to reflect Maori kawa and tikanga; and models of practice. this includes comprehensive assessment, evidence based psychological interventions (individual and group) and community liaison with vulnerable populations particularly focused towards working with Rangatahi and Whanau.

As a graduate role the position will manage a reduced client load and involve regular engagement with senior practitioners for mentoring and coaching in addition to planned professional development. Cultural supervision will also be supported for the graduate role.

**You will have**:

- A depth understanding of Te Ao Maori concepts of professional practice, including:

- Commitment to promoting Te Reo Maori in your practice
- Understanding of frameworks that underpin Positive Youth Development and Whanau Ora
- Recent qualification in mental health and/or addiction studies what would meet criteria for registration.
- Well organised with attention to detail and following through.
- Proven communication skills both written and oral for a variety of audiences.
