**Our Christchurch branch has both permanent and casual positions available.** We have roles within the Sample Reception and Micro teams based in Hornby, Christchurch. We are looking for people who maintain a high level of integrity in their work and enjoy developing their technical skills.

The permanent full time role is 40 hours per week, including Saturday mornings. The casual positions will be contracted as/when required to support our operations team.

**KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES**

In our Sample Reception team will be responsible for carrying out laboratory administration activities to ensure efficient ongoing delivery of a quality analytical service to our clients.

As a Laboratory Technician you will be responsible for carrying out laboratory operational activities to ensure efficient ongoing delivery of a quality analytical service to our clients whilst gaining practical training in a professional laboratory environment.

**ABOUT YOU**
- Previous administration experience in a laboratory (advantageous)
- May have a tertiary qualification in science or relevant discipline
- May have practical and theoretical chemistry and/or microbiology knowledge
- Previous workplace laboratory experience advantageous
- Effective team player with excellent communication skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail, very accurate and tidy in your work
- Excellent computer skills
- Be able to develop new ideas and provide a solution to problems.
- You are self-disciplined with the ability to follow set procedures and take the initiative when necessary
- Able to work effectively without direct supervision
