Adviser (Technology Risk) - Risk Specialists

Te tūranga - The role The Financial Stability Group (FSG) is responsible for ensuring that financial institutions are licensed, effectively regulated and supervised, and where applicable, enforcement action is taken. The Reserve Bank of New Zealand is now looking for a technology risk Adviser to sit within our Risk Specialists team in FSG. In this role, you will play an important part in supporting the intensification of supervision of regulated entities. You will drive initiatives that encompass operational resilience, technology risk, technology transformation, and cyber resilience. Additionally, you will:
- Play a leading role, alongside the Prudential Supervision and Prudential Policy departments, in the development of the long-term operational resilience approach and framework at the Reserve Bank, including the implementation of the Deposit Takers Act (DTA).
- Lead and mentor a team of Senior Analysts, supporting both in day-to-day tasks as well as career development.
- Own and develop relationships with domestic and international stakeholders, in order to coordinate work programmes, gather intelligence, and share global trends in relation to operational resilience.
Ō pūkenga - About you You have a true interest in the technology risk space and are looking for a new challenge where you can provide input into and contribute to the development of new frameworks and approaches. You are an excellent communicator with a collaborative approach. You are comfortable managing and engaging with a large and diverse range of stakeholders. You will have:
- Technical and in-depth experience in operational resilience, technology risk and transformation, or information security. Ideally with a background in either domestic or international regulatory agencies, or in financial services/adjacent industries.
- Extensive relationship management experience - the ability to build, develop and maintain high level relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, agencies, and partners.
- Experience in leading, mentoring and/or supporting diverse teams.
- Strong academic qualifications in relevant disciplines, or extensive and relevant professional experience.
