**About the Team**:

- Providing policy analysis and advice
- Advising on legislation and the design of regulatory instruments including maritime and marine protection rules
- Leading and managing the development and delivery of the annual regulatory design programme
- Leading coordination with the International Engagement and Coordination team to ensure that international developments are well integrated into the policy programme

**What you'll do**:
The Senior Advisor Regulatory Policy Design will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects including the development of regulatory interventions and advising on legislation and the design of regulatory instruments including maritime and marine protection rules. You'll establish and maintain relationships across Maritime NZ and with industry to ensure our work is well informed and connected.

**What we're looking for**:

- Proven experience and knowledge of Regulatory and or Policy Design;
- Sound experience in an advisory or analyst role within central government
- Strong analytical abilities, including the ability to interpret data and handle complex and technical material
- Experience contributing and taking the lead in policy projects and programmes of work
- Successful track record as a proactive and innovative thinker who is willing to involve others to look at problems from different perspectives and develop fresh solutions
- Aptitude for fostering positive working relationships with people across all levels of an organisation;
- Collaborative working style and commitment to a positive team culture.
