At Silver Fern Farms we have a responsibility to be kaitiaki of our people, the environment and one of Aotearoa’s most revered tohu (symbol) - the fern. This kaupapa comes with an obligation - a duty to show greater recognition and more strongly connect with Te Ao Māori. We plan to achieve this through our Te Ara Huri framework to help us wayfind and transform the objectives to genuine understandings and connections that support both Te Tangata (people) and Te Ao Turoa (environment).

The purpose of our Kaiārahi role for our Te Ara Huri framework will help facilitate our collaborative efforts across Silver Fern Farms that will assist towards achievement of the aspirations outlined in the Te Ara Huri framework, our Māori development framework.

**The role will involve**:
Working with Kaiarataki - Head of Te Ara Huri to:

- Advocate and assist with facilitation for implementing Te Ara Huri internally
- Lead the development and support of preparation and implementation of Te Ara Huri work plans with each unit of the business
- Supporting the Kaiarataki to engage externally and build strategic relationships
- Through your work grow staff openness, appreciation, knowledge, understanding and capability to engage with Tikanga Māori, Te Reo and Te Ao Māori
- Represent the Te Ara Huri framework and perspective of Te Ao Māori in different business forums ie. leadership development, land/water use consent etc. as Te Ara Huri comes to life and is embedded in how we operate
- Represent Te Ara Huri at events and across our network. There is a requirement to travel at times

- Proficiency in Te Reo Māori me tikanga is advantageous, however not essential
- A passion for inspiring others to embrace Te Ao Māori and Mātauranga Māori
- Your own experience and emergence in your Te Ao Māori journey
- Strong engagement and influencing abilities
- Well developed facilitation skills
