**What you will be doing | Ngā whāinga matua**

You will be providing technical support undertaking clinical, pre-clinical and laboratory research investigating the health benefits and impacts of food and food components. This varied role will see you:

- Contribute to the design and execution of laboratory research projects under the supervision of a senior scientist.
- Undertake sample preparation and extraction of following established protocols.
- Setting up of analytical instruments for sample analysis and monitoring operation of instruments.
- Data collection, entry, processing, and analysis.
- Contribute to the preparation of client reports, presentations, and scientific papers.

**What you will bring | Ngā tino pūkenga me ngā wheako**

To be successful in this role, the minimum qualifications required are:

- A sound theoretical and practical working knowledge of food, nutrition, biochemistry, microbiology, and immunology.
- A BSc degree, or equivalent, with knowledge of nutrition, physiology, biochemistry, or a closely related discipline.
- Practical laboratory experience and a willingness to become familiar with a range of laboratory instruments and software used to process and analyse biological samples.
- Practical laboratory experience in handling blood and other body tissues, tissue and cell culture and the instrumentation, software, processing and analysis thereof.
- Organised, methodical and committed to effective project management and accurate record keeping.
