The Psychological Medicine Service is part of the Division of Medicine at Te Whatu Ora - Counties Manukau. With some new funding plus a newly vacant role in rheumatology to offer, these roles will be working alongside various subspecialty services. This is your opportunity to make a real difference in our South Auckland community, improve outcomes for Maaori and Pasifika people and enjoy working with an ever-growing number of health psychologists at Counties Manukau.

In each of these positions, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide psychological assessments and interventions for patients. You will also provide a range of other services to support the development and function of the team and the organisation as a whole. Some of these activities will include case consultation, staff training and supervision, leadership and involvement in service development activities, and research and evaluation-related activities.

Previous clinical experience in a healthcare setting is essential. Each of the new positions are based at Middlemore Hospital and involve some component of inpatient care as well as outpatient care delivered across multiple satellite sites in the Counties Manukau area.

**Rheumatology Health Psychologist**: 0.4 FTE
This position involves providing psychological assessment and treatment services for patients attending these satellite sites and may involve inpatient work. Assessments undertaken by health psychologists provide an understanding of the person and their difficulties from a broad bio-psycho-social and developmental perspective and include the use of detailed psychological, cognitive and behavioural assessment interviews, and the use of standardised assessments tools. Interventions commonly used include individual therapy (often with a strong CBT and/or ACT focus), therapeutic groups, family therapy, psychoeducational groups, behaviour management, and case consultation.

**Cardiac Health Psychologist**: 0.6FTE
This position involves working alongside another cardiology health psychologist and the cardiology team to provide psychological assessment and treatment services for both inpatients and outpatients requiring your expertise. Contribution to cardiac rehab, service development and research will be important contributors to this role.

**Respiratory Health Psychologist**: 0.5 FTE
This position includes working alongside an existing part-time health psychologist and a health psychology intern. Based at Middlemore Hospital but delivering care across localities you will have the opportunity to further shape how health psychology delivers care to patients with various respiratory conditions. This role may include involvement in the Pulmonary Rehab (Better Breathing Programme) as well as developing new areas for health psychologist intervention.

**Essential**:

- Eligible to register or registered with the NZ Psychologists Board
- Health or Clinical Psychologist with a minimum of 12 months experience working in a healthcare setting
- Current Annual Practising Certificate with the NZ Psychologists Board
- Full, clean driver's licence
