The Hermitage Hotel is currently seeking a painter to join our expanding team.

The painter is a key role within our maintenance team and will perform repairs, surface preparation, and high quality finishing across our hotel, motel, airport, and staff accommodation properties.

Components of the role:

- Adhere to all H&S regulations and practice safe working.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues on the job quickly, efficiently, and effectively.
- Carrying out any other general maintenance duties as directed. This can range from general carpentry, basic plumbing and machinery repairs.
- Joining an on-call roster.
- Operating and maintaining all tools and machinery as outlined in department SOPs.
- Planning and prioritising jobs to ensure time limits are met.

Requirements for the role:

- Hold a current manual NZ driving licence.
- Have trade experience in either commercial, domestic or industrial sectors.
- Plastering experience essential.
- Have a strong attention to detail and high level of workmanship.
- Be able to work within a team and unsupervised, and perform multiple tasks, ensuring this is all completed within the company’s Health and Safety requirements.
- Have the ability to work closely with a diverse range of people as well as being able to build and maintain relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
- A strong desire to strive for excellence.
- A can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Friendly, outgoing, and professional, with excellent communication skills.

Further Information:

- This is a full-time position, minimum 60 hours per fortnight..
- Due to the remote nature of our location, own transport is encouraged.
