Breast Care Centre, Waikato has a great opportunity for someone who is motivated and dynamic and are looking to join a supportive and enthusiastic team. We are looking to recruit a clinician who has a special interest in women's health and breast diseases to fill the role of Breast Physician.
Are you a GP who would like to develop specialised knowledge and skills in order to offer a higher level of care to women with breast conditions and be part of a specialist multidisciplinary team.

Mō tātou Ratonga | About our Service
Te Whatu Ora Breast Care Centre (BCC) is an integrated diagnostic and breast screening specialist oncoplastic unit under General Surgery. The breast care service provides outpatient and inpatient services for women with benign and malignant breast problems. The service is contracted by the Ministry of Health, National Screening Unit (MOH, NSU) to provide the breast screening service to eligible population in the Te Manawa Taki region. This includes; recruitment and retention, invitation, screening and assessment.
**Our Mission is**:
To deliver high quality health care services that improves health outcomes and reduces inequalities where they exist.
**The service provides**:
- Diagnostic assessment for women and men referred by their General Practitioners with breast symptoms
- Assessment and surveillance of patients at high risk of breast cancer
- Treatments; including surgery and ongoing surveillance for patients with cancer and some benign conditions
- Primary referred imaging (mammogram and/or ultrasound)
- Advice on acute breast conditions
- Education for health care professionals and patients
- Actively involved in Research

- Current annual practising certificate
- Have a specialist interest in women's health
- Have good communication skills
- A commitment to customer focus, service development and teamwork are essential.
