**_Want to help save lives and make a positive difference to our nation's well-being?_**
- Permanent, Part-time opportunity
- Current NZ practising certificate required
- Tauranga Donor Center
Revitalise your Nursing passion and feel a sense of pride being an essential aspect of providing a life-saving service to New Zealanders by collecting, processing and distributing blood and blood products.
**About New Zealand Blood Service**
New Zealand Blood Service (NZBS) has sole responsibility for collecting, processing and distributing blood in New Zealand. Through the generosity of our donors, we are able to help save lives through our blood, blood products and other services. At the end of the day, you know that you've contributed in some way to making a difference in someone's life.
Our shared values are at the heart of our organisation's culture and guide our behaviour each and every day. They inspire us, motivate us and drive us to provide the very best service to the New Zealand public.
**About the role**
We are looking for an Enrolled Nurse to join our team on a permanent part time basis working 32 hours per week. However, we would accommodate permanent full time hours for the right applicant.
Working for the New Zealand Blood and Organ Service (NZBS), our Enrolled Nurses undertake donor health assessments and perform whole blood, plasma and platelet collection procedures.
There is a lot more to being a nurse at NZBS other than just taking blood. Dealing with primarily well people gives a different perspective to a working day.
If you are interested in developing your clinical skills in the collection of Whole Blood, Plasma and Plateletpheresis including experience in procedures such as therapeutic venesection; or if you would like to develop your coaching, training and development skills, inspiring our staff to be the best they can be, NZBS has fantastic opportunities for everyone.
**About you and the role**
As our donors regularly go out of their way to give up their time to donate blood, great customer service is key to ensuring they have an amazing donation experience that encourages their continued support. So to be successful in this role you'll be a great communicator with good written and verbal skills, vital for reassuring the donor every step of the way.
Flexible to work rostered shifts and there many be occasional travel away on Mobile Blood Drives with overnight travel for up to four nights a week.
Salary starting from $61,146 to $73,609 depending on experience.
**Additionally, if you choose to work with us, you will**:
- Enjoy a better work-life balance (no nights) and working with healthy donors
- Work in outpatient environments like Donor Centres and Mobile Drives
- Learn new, transferable career skills
- Participate in professional development & advancement including a Nursing Council accredited PDRP programme
- Undertake comprehensive training and orientation
- Help save lives and make a positive difference to people's well-being
- Travel and see the country (on mobile blood drives)
If this role sounds like you and you are self-motivated, get the best out of people and able to communicate on all levels, then we would like to hear from you.
**Come and make a difference with NZBS.
