**Registered Nurse** | Tāpuhi whai rēhitanga**

We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse with a background working in Specialist Mental Health Services to take a leadership role focused on the development, delivery, and integration of Pegasus Health’s Equally Well projects, programmes, and activities across Canterbury.

This is a permanent position with flexible hours between 24 and 32 hours per week available.

**About Equally Well**

Equally Well is an initiative comprised of a group of people and organisations with the common goal of achieving physical health equity for people who experience serious mental illness and addiction issues (SMIA). In Aotearoa and overseas, people experiencing SMIA tend to have poorer physical health than their counterparts in the general population, and a shorter life expectancy (up to 25 years). Pegasus Health endorses the Te Pou Equally Well Consensus Position Paper and in doing so, acknowledges the physical health inequities in people who experience SMIA and commits to taking action to achieve physical health equity.

**About the Role**

- Provide education to and strengthen relationships with general practice teams to build capacity to deliver effective, ongoing healthcare for patients with SMIA.
- Explore and strengthen ways of identifying people experiencing SMIA who are not currently supported/engaged with primary care and enable this engagement.
- Advocate for and contribute to the development of consistent and effective data collection, processes, and systems for identifying, monitoring and evaluating this population group and the effectiveness of Pegasus’ Equally Well activities, projects and programmes.

**What you will bring**
