**Tēnei tūranga - About the role**:
Come and progress your career in the Business Services Team. The Business Services Team’s mission is to deliver business services that build business capability and drive effective programme management within the Building System Performance (BSP) Branch.

BSP is New Zealand’s building system regulator with responsibility for its overall design and monitoring of its performance. We provide policy and technical advice on New Zealand’s building system, rules and standards, and implement building legislation and regulations to deliver on MBIE’s objective of “Grow New Zealand for All”.

You will sit within a small team of advisors (Business Advisor and Principal Advisor) who aim to increase customer satisfaction and accountability. Our work programme covers:

- risk management
- performance and accountability
- business continuity
- procurement and contract management
- building levy management
- business planning
- ministerial servicing (e.g. PQs, OIAs).

Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and experience required:

- At least 5 years’ experience working in the public sector, preferably in a planning, reporting, governance or ministerial servicing role
- A good understanding of the processes that underpin the operations of the public sector environment, such as Cabinet and parliamentary processes, portfolio / appropriation and budget development, management and reporting, and development of accountability products (Estimates, Annual Review, non-financial information etc)
- Experience contributing to or leading business management processes such as risk management, business continuity, induction, contract management and/or managing business improvement projects
- Ability to quickly assimilate new information and come to an understanding of unfamiliar and complex issues.
- Good written and communications skills.
- Understanding of the functions and workings of Ministers’ Offices.
- Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
