Our Sterile Sciences Service Department (SSSD) is a high-tech production facility responsible for the disinfection and sterilisation of equipment used directly on patients. This department is currently the only unit in New Zealand to be ISO 13485 accredited and utilises advanced sterilisation technology and training methodologies combined with leading edge software to provide comprehensive support to our customers.
SSSD operates 24/7 from two sites servicing 39 operating theatres along with numerous wards, clinics and departments. We process over 7 million instruments annually used for over 45,000 surgical procedures in different locations every year. Our diverse multi-cultural staff plays a critical role in delivering the final quality outputs.
In this role you will be provide leadership and effective day-to-day operational management of the Sterile Sciences Service Department in line with Te Toka Tumai 's strategy and goals and deliver sustainable results. You are accountable to the Director of Perioperative Services in line with the organisation's key result areas of:

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
- be tertiary qualified with a track record in logistics, business and financial management preferably within the health sector
- have the ability to lead performance improvement, innovation and efficiency in a complex stakeholder environment
- possess a depth of leadership experience with a collaborative style
- have a strong commitment to best practice patient care and delivering to health targets
- demonstrate hands on knowledge of new technologies and quality standards
- preferably have a proven background delivering a SSSD service within a complex, high volume, multi-site organisation are essential.
