**Mō te tūranga **| **About the role**
A Clinical Coder is a healthcare worker whose primary responsibilities are the abstraction, interpretation and translation of narrative descriptions of diseases and procedures into alphanumeric codes, according to a prescribed clinical classification system and coding standards. The coded data is used to inform multiple areas such as data for research, funding, and planning, as well as adherence to contracts (both acute and elective). Timely and accurate coding is therefore essential.
Recently, two of our Coders have returned to their country of origin, and we are seeking to refill these positions.
Clinical documentation is largely paper-based, therefore we require Coders who are able to work onsite.
