As a Drainage Supervisor you will plan and organise work safely, while making sure that all resources are available to execute the job, this includes people plant and materials in your area of control. As a Drainage Supervisor, you may lead multiple operational crews and perform some hands on work.
In addition to the above you will:
- Monitor and deliver scope of stormwater and drainage maintenance services to agreed annual budgets and work programmes. Ensure work is delivered to HDC specifications and within agreed contract timeframes and KPIs.
- Develop, maintain and lead an outstanding safety, environmental and quality culture in the stormwater and drainage services maintenance and operations team. Ensure staff are trained appropriately to undertake all work safely and competently. Develop an annual training and competency assessment programme that ensures we have a great water team to service this contract in the future.
- Build and maintain honest and collaborative relationships with our Client and all stakeholder groups.

We’re looking for someone with:
- Minimum Full Class 1 licence, full class 2 would be beneficial.
- Level 4 or 5 qualification in wastewater/stormwater infrastructure
- Proven ability to build customer and supplier relationships.
- Strong understanding of health and safety, quality and environmental standards and regulations.
- Strong understanding of water hygiene practices to protect water supplies.
- Strong understanding of wastewater and stormwater assets/systems and their functions including performance envelopes.
- Familiarity with modern asset/job computer based maintenance systems and geospatial visualisation tools such as ESRi ARC GIS.
- Thorough understanding of water industry risks and safety procedures (working at heights, contamination risks, confined spaces, permits, working around water etc).
- Understanding of HAZOP and Safety in Design processes and when they should be applied.
- Delivering infrastructure O&M work packages to contract budgets at agreed margins.
- Experience in developing staff skills to provide career pathways and improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.
