Assistant Baker

We are a busy Bakery and Café serving the Havelock North Community, currently looking for a dedicated and passionate Assistant Baker to join our team in the kitchen to prepare high-quality food and follow health and safety regulations as well as our kitchen standards.

Angkor Wat Kiwi Bakery and Café is looking for a full-time permanent position with a guaranteed 30 hours per week and a maximum of 40 hours to work in Havelock North, Hake’s Bay roster between the hours of 3:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Sunday. You will be required to work during weekends or public holidays to meet the needs of the business operation hours.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

- gathering food ingredients in preparation for cooking and serving
- gathering pots and pans in preparation for cooking food ingredients
- assisting in the kitchen to prepare for kitchen food orders
- weighing and measuring ingredients for making pies and sweet
- washing, peeling, cutting, slicing and dicing ingredients for cooking and serving
- assisting the baker to make pies and sweets
- removing cooked food from ovens, pantries and food warmers
- washing kitchen areas, equipment, utensils, dishes and silverware
- storing food supplies, equipment, utensils, dishes and silverware in refrigerators, cupboards, pantries and other storage areas
- following food safety hygiene and emptying the rubbish bin at the end of shift

**Qualification/Work experience**:

- a New Zealand Certificate in Hospitality (Cookery, Level 2/3) or equivalent qualifications that are relevant to perform the job is preferable but not necessary
- No work experience is required however we would like someone with a passion to work inside the kitchen

The pay would be $25 /per hour to $30/ per hour depending on your skill level and work experience.
