We are the Student Experience Team within the Academic Division. Join the team responsible for supporting University of Otago students - our future New Zealand thinkers.
Our specific focus is on the student experience felt by our Students here at the University of Otago. We work to provide accurate and timely information, assistance and advice across activities such as university admission; programme admission; scholarship administration; course advice, timetabling, assessment, academic record maintenance, academic progression (including prizes and awards) and graduation.
**_ The role/Te mahi_**
The Analyst role within the Timetables team is responsible for providing specialist advice and analytics across activities such as teaching and exam timetabling, room allocation, occupancy, and frequency and utilisation.
You will work in partnership with academic areas to create and develop novel timetabling solutions to support complex teaching arrangements and provide specialist advice and guidance.
- Key tasks include:
- Developing systems to monitor and evaluate administrative practices with a view to optimise efficiency.
- Working to design and develop sophisticated modelling of potential solutions to timetabling problems.
- Undertaking macro-level analysis to gauge timetable quality, occupancy, frequency and utilisation, and resource usage.
- Developing and maintaining knowledge and expertise regarding University academic programmes and regulations.
- Working alongside timetabling colleagues to schedule classes, examinations, and maintain academic programme information.

**_ Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako_**
- Previous experience working in a busy and/or complex administrative role or related services in a large or complex organisation.
- Experience working with complex data sets, including the ability to analyse and interpret information and prepare written reports.
- An understanding of tertiary education academic programmes/course regulations and policies is a benefit.
- Knowledge and understanding of a student management system or CRM system.
- A passion for customer service and delivering exceptional service to students.
