**About the role**:
As a Personal Training Tutor, you will be walking into an energetic environment where value is placed on delivering outcomes rather than micro-managing work and tasks. You will be given autonomy to work in a way that gets the best results and will be expected to take responsibility and make things happen. In this role, you will mentor a small group of motivated personal training students completing their Certificate in Exercise - Level 4/L5. Additionally, be available to teach across any NZIS sports program if necessary.

**Some of your key responsibilities will be to**:

- Deliver NZQA learning objectives in a way that brings our curriculum alive for the student
- Mentor students and track/monitor their success
- Stay abreast of latest industry/teaching trends and recommendations
- Meet NZIS targets for student achievement and recruitment
- Relevant sport, exercise and recreation Industry stakeholder engagement

**About you**:
To be a Personal Training Tutor, you must have a bachelor’s degree in exercise science/sport coaching or other related fields or experience in the sport, exercise or recreation industry, along with relevant industry experience in personal training. You must have the ability to operate independently and be able to mentor students of all age groups to become the fitness leaders of tomorrow. In addition, you must also have:

- A passion for the sports fitness and recreation industries and networks within the local sporting/fitness communities
- The confidence to deliver information to a group of tertiary students using a range of creative, exciting and motivational delivery methods
- The ability to demonstrate and coach a wide range of exercises commonly performed in the gym environment.
- Exercise Prescription - the writing and delivery of exercise programmes
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Special populations - How to adjust programmes for those with specific needs.
- Customer care and ethics
- Fitness testing protocols
- Business of personal training
