**Tēnei tūranga - About the Role**:
An opportunity has arisen for three Minerals Advisors in the Minerals Team, Resource Markets Branch at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.

We are looking for someone with an understanding of the New Zealand mineral sector, and/or with experience in a regulatory role, with the ability to understand regulatory compliance.

The successful applicant needs to have effective business writing skills, the ability to work with flexibility and to adapt to change quickly and have good relationship management skills with the confidence of working with diverse stakeholders.

The applicant will want to consistently work to improve and enhance the way the team delivers our business.

**Skills and Experience Required**
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant technical discipline
- Exceptional organisational ability and the ability to manage time effectively
- Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to a range of difference audiences
- Ability to multi-task, work with flexibility and to adapt quickly to change while maintaining performance when under pressure
- Ability to think critically through ambiguous and conflicting requirements using reasoning and judgement
- Understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the role of the Crown in partnering with Māori
- Experience working in the mineral resource sector and/or in a regulatory role
- Ability to integrate and balance statutory and specialist technical information and present them with simplicity and clarity
- Sound analytical skills and problem-solving ability
- Ability to think through ambiguous and conflicting requirements and solve problems pragmatically, effectively, and promptly
- Manage and build constructive working relationships
- Must have the legal right to live and work in NZ
