About the role
Whānau Resilience is an initiative that aims to create strong, resilient communities where whānau are supported to live violence free, and to eliminate violence for the next generation. Whānau Resilience involves local groups of providers working together in their regions to design and deliver services for people. The design process is largely completed and has involved providers working together to build a picture of the needs and strengths of their region, along with testing and learning about what works for whānau to build resilience.
The participation of The Fono was to provide an influential Pasifika orientated voice to the programme ensuring that Pacific cultural dimensions, mores and protocols are built into the services. The services that are designed at the end of the process will then be delivered in communities.
About you
You will:
- Have an excellent understanding and appreciation of Pasifika cultures / mores / protocols
- Be a registered social worker
- Want to reduce family violence and sexual abuse and preferably have relevant experience in the field of family violence/sexual violence
- Have extensive knowledge of social services in Auckland
- Be committed to working with others
- Have initiative and innovative thinking
- Be computer literate
- Have a full Drivers Licence
- Have NZ permanent residency
