Coolstore Manager

Our client is a well-established packhouse operating since 1983. With the continued support from their grower shareholders, they are now one of the largest post-harvest operators in the industry. We are currently looking for a Coolstore Manager to manage the coolstorage and controlled atmosphere rooms, someone who can ensure orders are prepared correctly and on time and has experience with repacking and maintenance.

In this role, you will be expected to:

- Manage, train and lead the coolstore team, allocate work, and motivate the team to follow best practice and KPI’s
- Ensure you have a schedule and complete pre-season and on-going checks for the Coolstore and CA rooms, checking temperatures, atmosphere, loading and fruit quality to minimise fruit loss
- Accurately record bin movements
- Provide excellent customer service liaising with logistic firms, freight agencies, local customers, and internal customers
- Meet all food safety requirements and regulations
- Be involved with the recruitment and training of new staff and complete regular performance appraisals for key staff
- Promote good health and safety practices

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

- Previous experience in a logistics or coolstorage roles
- Experience leading and organising a team and empowering others
- Excellent attention to detail, a multi-tasker and strong problem-solving skills
- Demonstrable experience analysing data, fruit quality and movement, and continuously looking for improvements.
- The ability to stay motivated and really push to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and people skills.
