**About the role**

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Manager to join our Waikato Construction team. Based in Hamilton and reporting to the Area Manager, we are looking for someone who has a proven track record of establishing and maintaining strong client relationships, is an exceptional leader who possesses in-depth experience in delivering a large portfolio of complex commercial builds through to completion and who ensures a consistently high level of build quality.
- Taking a lead role to manage the tendering, design and project delivery of a portfolio of Calder Stewart commercial and industrial projects through planning, implementation and coordination of internal and external stakeholder, as well as seek new client opportunities and provide resources to new projects in the Waikato Region.
- Leading the day-to-day operations and provide technical support for Waikato Construction team.
- Developing, monitoring and maintaining a culture of success, professionalism, people development, quality and construction best practice while supporting the Area Manager, Calder Stewart Property and other Project Sponsors/Senior Suppliers from other parts of Calder Stewart.

**What you need**

What is essential is that you have extensive experience at a management or senior level in the construction industry (Commercial/Industrial environment) along with knowledge of a variety of building construction techniques. In addition:

- A relevant trade/advanced trade certificate with preferably a formal qualification in Contract Management or Project Management.
- Evident interpersonal skills that ensure strong stakeholder relationships (internal and external) are formed along with high level of communication ability both written and oral.
- A commitment to growing the capability of the people and teams around you.
- Attention to detail and ability to think conceptually, interpret drawings and determine the right outcome for the client.
- Proven negotiation skills, problem solving techniques and able to handle situations under pressure.
- Proven organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise work effectively.
