Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

The Handyperson role is within our Public Private Partnership (PPP) contract to provide facilities services for the Auckland South Corrections Facility offering comprehensive soft and hard services, together with other operational requirements in order to maintain contractual obligations. Together with core service delivery, our ASCF team provides multi-disciplined building services and is responsible for delivering a comprehensive lifecycle replacement program for the 25-year term.

This role would be perfect for someone who likes to plan, organise, and prioritise their work in order to meet strict deadlines and provide timely and accurate information to all stakeholders

A bit about the role

This role supports ensuring asset management outcomes are effectively implemented and maintained in a manner that supports the secure environment of a custodial facility whilst retaining the original asset value. Duties include but not limited to.

Carry out general maintenance and repairs, which are to be completed promptly and efficiently.
Promoting strong collaborative customer relationships with positive interactions and value adding activities.
Assisting in the generation of specifications, engineering, designing, scoping, costing, and quoting of solutions as requested.
Supporting with solid technical solutions, primarily with electrical, air-conditioning, mechanical and facilities assets.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about going the extra mile You are motivated and ready for the opportunity to take on maintenance work to achieve a high standard performance. You will also bring with you:
Previous experience with property, facilities and/or asset management role
Literate (ability to complete time and job sheets, and some technical literacy to operate handheld electronic recording devices)
Ability to plan jobs, operate and maintain equipment without supervision.
Drivers’ License, Manual class 1
**Technical skills**: Working knowledge of the techniques, methods, tools, and safety precautions of the carpentry trade. Skill in the use of tools, materials, and equipment used in electrical work.
Commitment to workplace health and safety (WHS management)
