**About the team**:
The Regional Transport Connections directorate is responsible for delivering on the council’s transport connections strategic priority and the council’s functions under the Land Transport Management Act - because connected communities are stronger.

**About you**:
**Qualifications**:

- A clean and current driver’s licence

**Experience**:

- Practical experience in transport planning is preferred, however we are open to other options as well - planning in a different industry, a related role in the transport industry, or perhaps something else

**About the role**:
As a planner, you will join the Commercial and Planning team to support the public transport network for the Waikato Region. Combining technical planning with design skills, the role will be varied and could include any of the following:

- Input / development and review of growth plans, strategies, and development proposals
- Being an expert witness and providing evidence into resource management act processes
- Contributing to infrastructure development
- Contributing to procurement processes and supplier management
- Writing reports and business case
- Working with a range of internal and external stakeholders on various projects
- Supporting the other members of the commercial and planning team
