Due to an internal secondment, we are seeking a Policy Adviser for our Arts Policy team on a 12months fixed term or secondment basis, reporting to a Tier 3 manager,

We have a varied and high-profile work programme to shape and progress as we enable our sectors to be more sustainable, support toi Māori, increase the accessibility of and participation in our sectors and recognise the important role that the arts can play in our wellbeing. Our team covers the full spectrum of the arts sectors, including visual and performing art, toi Māori and kapa haka, music, dance and all sorts of other ways to express creativity.
Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role In this role you will draw on your knowledge and experience of public policy processes to advise Ministers on arts and culture policy issues including advice on interesting policy issues that require balancing of economic, cultural, and social outcomes and engagement with people from across our creative sectors. This role will provide you with experiences, variety and opportunities that will enhance your career.
Our work spans the range of policy levers, including regulatory, funding and system-level policy and offers plenty of room and support for development and growth. We work collaboratively across other agencies and with a wide range of stakeholders, and we have some fun while we do it.
Mōu anō | About youWe are looking for an enthusiastic team player who can think strategically, work through ambiguity and manage relationships. In return we offer an inclusive Ministry, with varied work that provides ample opportunities for growth.

**Ideally you will have**:

- A tertiary qualification, and experience in a relevant professional field
- Relevant experience providing policy analysis and advice in the public sector.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective relationship management skills
- An ability to provide quality advice under tight timeframes
