As the Assistant Archivist you will be working closely with the Council Archivist assisting them with managing the collection and promoting and managing access to the Archives.
To be successful you will have:
- Experience working with archives, especially accessioning, arrangement, description and retrieval of archival material
- Knowledge and experience in the area of preservation, conservation and storage of archival items
- Excellent research and analytical skills and an ability to present information
- Digital skills and experience using cataloguing systems, collaboration and presentation software (e.g. website, social media)
- Knowledge of information and records management standards, principles and legislation, specifically Archives New Zealand standards and the Public Records Act 2005
- Accuracy and high attention to detail
- Excellent customer and communication skills
