**Mō tātou Ratonga | About our Service**

We run five hospitals across the district - a tertiary hospital in Hamilton, a secondary hospital in Thames, and three rural hospitals in Te Kuiti, Taumarunui, and Tokoroa.

The Clinical Coding Department is responsible for coding all the discharges for these hospitals (including the Mental Health Facility on the Waikato campus) and all external outsourced contracts. This is about 10,000-10,500 discharges per month.

Required skills & experience you will need to be consider for this role:
To accurately code across all specialties meeting the Te Whatu Ora deadlines and the competency levels within the National Clinical Coder Progression Criteria

**Required skills & experience**:

- Competency in Coding in ICD 10AM 11th Edition
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong customer service focus
- A willingness to undertake further study and ongoing training
