An exciting opportunity has become available to work as a IS Systems Engineer (Security) and join our passionate and multi-disciplinary team in the Information Systems department at Rotorua Hospital.
About the role
- Full time, permanent
- 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week.
About you
The IS Systems Engineer (Security) provides guidance and design for system security requirements across the Lakes District computer systems and network. You will also be reviewing existing systems, identifying and defining improvements, documenting standards and updating operating procedures. You will be required to work closely with both local System Engineers and regional system security staff.
Other key areas include but not limited to, network technologies, client devices, Citrix, VMWare, DNS, Active Directory, SQL, storage and back-up technologies.
You should have
- A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Computer Science or Computer Engineering).
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or other recognised vendor qualification relevant to infrastructure.
- Certified Information Security Professional or other recognised qualification in this field.
- 3+ years' experience within an Information Communication Technology field using Microsoft client and server systems.
- 3+ years' experience working with:
- Cisco network infrastructure.
- Anti-virus, intrusion detection, firewalls, and content filtering systems.
- Risk assessment tools, technologies and methods.
- Designing and implementing security methodologies.
- Disaster recovery, forensic tools and methods.
- Developing and maintaining security policies, Standard Operation Procedures.
- Monitoring tools for network traffic, server environments and security alerts.
- ITIL qualification
You would be
- Experienced in educating staff on security issues, developing training information and organizing training sessions.
- Able to articulate complex technical information in a precise and clear format for the intended audience.
- Able to write documents and communications in a clear, concise format for the intended audience.
- Experienced in cisco network management with an emphasis on routing, switching, Virtual switching system, Nexus, Cisco wireless and VOIP technologies, firewalls including both Cisco and Checkpoint
- Experienced in CITRIX management
- Very proficient across core Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS)
- Experienced with ESX Virtualisation, EMC and NetApp San technologies
- Experienced with Microsoft Server 2008/2012 operating system, Microsoft Exchange 2010/2016 and Microsoft SQL Server
