He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Child Health Integrated Response Pathway (CHIRP) team CHIRP is a joint venture between Paediatric, Child Mental Health (Voyagers) and Child Development services and aims to improve the experience and outcomes for Tamariki who have neurodevelopmental, behavioural, and attentional concerns.
The CHIRP coordinator will provide an information gathering/assessment and advisory role for children referred with developmental, attention and/or behavioural concerns. Information will be collated to better understand the needs of each individual child and whānau to connect them with appropriate services for ongoing assessment and support. This typically involves parent and teacher questionnaires to gain a better understanding of a child's strengths and needs across different environments.
The objective of this role is to facilitate an accessible, responsive and whānau centred pathway for children and their families. If you are highly motivated, passionate about empowering tamariki and whānau and providing them the right service at the right time, then we would love to hear from you
He Kōrero mōu - About You
**To be successful in this role you will have**:
- Have great communication skills (written and verbal)
- Have experience working with Tamariki and whānau, preferably with an interest in neurodevelopment and some knowledge of mental health presentations.
- Be responsive, creative and flexible as the referral pathway in the Eastern Bay is developed.
- Be a team player, and connect well with whānau, child specialist services, and community and education networks within the Eastern Bay.
