Orchard Supervisor

RS Grow Limited is a well-established horticulture contractor in the Hawkes Bay region that is looking to expand its current team

RS Grow limited is looking for at least 3 Supervisors with exceptional skills with the know-how of the industry works to assist the Orchard Manager in the day-to-day running and onsite activities. This is a full-time permanent position based in the wider Hawkes Bay region.

To be considered for this position youll ideally have industry experience including at least 12 months working Experince at supervisory role Preferably in the horticulture or agriculture industry. You should have excellent communication skills (both written and spoken) and be able to work independently to reach goals. You must be able to multitask and will be able to complete work in set time frames.

**What does the role involve'**
- You will be responsible for running a team of people both permanent and of the larger seasonal workforce in all aspects of orchard horticulture.
- Assist the Manager in running to a budget you will be required to maximize the efficiency of day-to-day orchard operations
- Ensure that successful seasonal horticultural activities lead to a top-quality product year after year.
- Effectively managing and leading staff through compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Management tasks such as preparing/keeping accurate timesheets, creating reports for work, communicating with farmers and growers, HR duties, and staff management/training.
- Operation of basic orchard machinery e.g. tractors as required, as per seasonal needs.

**What skills and experience are we looking for'**
- Ideally, you will have 12 months of experience in the horticulture or farming industry and a proven ability in managing a large Horticultural or farming operation.
- Having a management qualification is preferred, but not essential
- Experience in developing and training people is essential to succeed in this role.
- Proven ability in implementing quality, H&S, and continuous improvement systems
- You will be confident in multi-tasking and will be calm under pressure.
- Well organized, goal-focused, able to show initiative, multi-task and make decisions.

Pay rate is $30.00 per hour with a minimum of 30 hours per week of work available. RS Grow Limited operates 7 days a week, weather-depending, between the hours of 7:30am - 6:00pm.

Our worksites are based in and around the Bay of Plenty region and as the role will require some travel, the successful applicant will have their own transport.
