**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The Pacific Public Health directorate is a new function in the National Public Health Service designed to support and enable the wider National Public Health Service and Te Whatu Ora to succeed and empower Pacific Communities. The Directorate uses Pacific values and a Fonofale Model to ensure professional and cultural leadership and support to all Pacific workforce across the NPHS.

The **Registered Nurse role **based in the Auckland region is a full time, permanent position with other part-time roles available that sits within Pacific Regional Coordination Hub team and also the Northern Pacific Regional team in the Pacific Public Health Directorate. The This role will:

- Support the Pacific Regional Coordination Hub Lead and Northern Regional Lead in delivery of Pacific specific initiatives.
- Effectively manage and meet the needs of the patient and whanau ensuring that care and service delivery meets the expected standards of care.
- Support the wider Pacific Public Health directorate and NPHS in delivery of public health initiatives to Pacific families and communities.
- Provide leadership, in, driving a culture permission giving, connection, continuous improvement and strong partnership with communities.
- Work in close partnership with external stakeholders to ensure the sustainability of outcomes.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Has proven experience working with communities to achieve Pacific health gain as well as achieving equitable health outcomes for Pacific and supporting Pacific communities' self-determination
- Registered Nurse with current Annual Practising Certificate - **Please note that this role does not have supervision or visa support available.**:

- At least one year post registration in nursing practice
- Effectively applies knowledge to skills and practice
- Demonstrable understanding of Pacific cultural protocols & experience working in partnership with Pacific communities
- Understanding of, and commitment to, the specific relationship under te Tiriti o Waitangi, and Te Whatu Ora's role in improving outcomes for iwi and Māori communities

- Competency with Pacific cultural protocols, and one or more Pacific languages or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
