We require Ship Repairers to join the team.
- This is a permanent role
- Full time, with minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week
- Monday - Friday with weekend jobs available
- Competitive remuneration $29.66-$35.00 per hour depending on experience

**About the Role**

You will be based in Auckland, but may also be required to work in Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Wanganui, Wellington, Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland. This may require the need to travel away from home or relocate.

**What you will do**

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Read and interpret technical drawings, manufacture specifications and technical manuals.
- Manufacture or customise components to suit.
- Fabricate and customise vessel structures and components.
- Installation, commissioning and servicing of components and systems.
- Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair a variety of marine propulsion systems, outboard motors and other boat components.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, overhauls, and tune-ups on inboard and outboard engines.
- Assess and replace parts, such as fuel pumps, water pumps, spark plugs, and other electrical components.
- Identify and correct electrical and hydraulic systems malfunctions.
- Test and adjust engines for proper performance and ensure that the engines are running efficiently.
- Perform tests to determine the nature and extent of repairs required.
- Competently use hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
- Weld in a range of techniques and materials
- Complete reports and paperwork related to the job.
- Any other tasks as reasonably required.
- Comply with all aspects of any contract, project or task and deliver customer services that meets or exceed the expectation of the customer or business.

**The successful applicant will**
- Minimum 1-year relevant and verifiable experience on the same/similar role
- Must have a good level of spoken and written English
- Can work unsupervised or part of a team
- Willing to undergo pre-employment drug & alcohol screening
- Willing to undergo pre-employment medical and eyesight examination
- Willing to undergo pre-employment criminal history screening
- Able to complete basic paperwork when needed
- Essential Knowledge of Health and Safety and the hazards of operating on construction sites
- Have a positive can-do attitude
- Able to problem solve and manage time well
- You must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
