Hamilton, New Zealand MVR Holdings Limited Full time

Caltex, Hamilton is looking for Retail Manager to be in charge of the day-to-day operations of their business. Someone who can handle inventory, personnel, and financial matters while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements. The applicant must have excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, as well as a dedication to providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Operations Management**: Supervise the day-to-day activities of the store and gas station. Ensure that the business operates profitably, safely and efficiently, check fuel deliveries, track inventory levels, and coordinate with suppliers, Make sure all equipment and facilities are in good working order and make maintenance appointments as needed.
- **Inventory & Stock Management**: Determine product mix and maintain optimal stock levels for fuel and retail products, Conduct regular stock take and place timely orders to minimize shrinkage and theft, Ensure the station is clean, well-stocked, and welcoming at all times.
- **Sales & Marketing**: Formulating and implementing purchasing and marketing policies, and setting prices, Promoting and advertising the establishment's goods and services to drive sales, selling goods and services to customers and advising them on product use, Set competitive pricing and promote the station’s goods and services
- **Customer Service**:Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries, complaints, and concerns professionally, Ensure staff delivers top-quality service and adheres to company policies, Foster a welcoming environment for customers
- **Financial Management**:Maintaining records of stock levels and financial transactions, Manage daily cash handling, reconcile sales, and maintain accurate financial records. Prepare budgets, track expenses, and monitor profitability, Generate financial reports and analyze sales data to improve performance, Implement policies to reduce operational costs and improve financial efficiency.
- **Safety & Compliance**:Complying with HSSE (Health, Safety, Security and Environment) and Food Safety Management System standards, Implement and enforce safety procedures for fuel handling and station operations, Maintain records of safety inspections, incident reports, and regulatory compliance

Days required: Rotating roster, including weekends

Hours per week: 40 hours per week (24 hours roster)

Hourly Pay: $30 - $32 per hour

**Qualifications & Requirements**:

- A bachelor’s degree & One year proven experience in retail, preferably in a gas station or convenience store environment, Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Previous Barista experience.
- Experience in Food Handing.
- Experience in developing and implementing retail policies and marketing strategies.
- Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, sales analysis, and cash handling.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to fuel retailing
- Clean credit history
- Valid, clean driving license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a good credit history as this job involves cash handling. We may request for police vetting in case you are selected.
- You must be either a New Zealand Citizen / Resident or on a valid visa and able to work full time.
