We are looking for a technician at a junior to intermediate level to join our team in **Tauranga**. This full-time permanent role is a great opportunity for someone looking to kick-start their career or further develop existing skills and interest in the Internet of Things (IoT).

In this role, you will be expected to carry out technical work with a high level of care and precision. The work will be a combination of office-based work and hands-on fieldwork. A reasonable degree of physical and practical capability will be required to successfully carry out fieldwork tasks.

Duties include:

- Telemetry equipment and sensor assembly, bench testing, configuration and installation
- Monitoring of field instruments, processing of data and reporting
- Troubleshooting and diagnosis of problems with electronic equipment
- Assisting with research and development of new hardware
- Integration of instrument data with our customer-facing software
- Supporting existing projects and customers, ensuring continuity of high-quality service

Ideally you will:

- Have basic familiarity with low-voltage electrical concepts
- Have some experience assembling electronic equipment
- Be computer savvy, with some degree of proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Have reasonable mathematical skills
- Have familiarity with using hand-tools for assembly of equipment
- Want a job that involves a mix of in-office and outdoor technical work
- Be happy to travel for work, occasionally spending time away from home to carry out project work

Some good-to-have but not essential credentials:

- Computer and device networking knowhow
- A relevant tertiary qualification or previous experience in the technology, manufacturing, mechanical or computer networking disciplines

You will be part of a team but will also be required to work independently under the direction of the Team Leader and Engineers.
