Maintenance Engineer

As a maintenance engineer, you will be required to conduct routine maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment faults on site. You may also be required to remove old equipment and train staff on equipment operating procedures. To ensure success as a maintenance engineer, you should have extensive knowledge of industrial equipment, basic engineering principles and procedures, the ability to work well under pressure and demonstrate high-level problem-solving skills. An outstanding maintenance engineer should be able to service, troubleshoot, and repair equipment without causing extended equipment downtime.

Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:

- Inspecting equipment and conducting routine maintenance.
- Servicing and replacing old or faulty equipment.
- Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
- Removing old equipment and installing new machines.
- Proving technical support and training on new equipment.
- Adhering to all safety and performance regulations.

Maintenance Engineer Requirements:

- Trade Cert Fitter Welder or Fitter Turner
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical (preferable but not essential).
- Proven work experience as a maintenance engineer.
- Knowledge of current NZ Safety guidelines.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of safety and equipment procedures.
- Good communication and training skills.
- Ability to work with heavy equipment.

Hours of work

This role will be required to support the startup of the processing plant from Monday to Friday. As such the shift will be a midnight start (Sunday night) and finish at 9.00am.
- Monday to Friday 12am to 9.00am

The role will report directly to the Site Maintenance Manager

The role will be to form part of a team with two existing maintenance engineers who do a 10am to 8.30pm roster over 7 days.
