**Te Kōwhiringa | The Opportunity**

Downer hold a long term Asset Management and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice. This involves the proactive management and delivery to the national portfolio of facilities including 16 prisons, 100 courts and 157 community correctional sites.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to expand their knowledge in the Facilities sector. There are a lot of opportunities to grow within the team and you will be exposed to different responsibilities that will further enhance your skills as an HVAC Technician.

Prisons are sometimes challenging work environments, so you must be confident and able to conduct yourself professionally at all times. You will also understand the 24/7 nature of a prison site and be prepared to sometimes manage jobs and situations after hours.

We are looking for an HVAC Technician to join our team at Christchurch Women’s and Rolleston Prison. You will assist in the generation of specifications, engineering, designing, scoping, costing and quoting of solutions as requested. Ensure that the correct risk & event management and mitigation guidelines are being followed. You will provide technical support, where appropriate. You will also be expected to assist in service/ project delivery improvements and business expansion/ development where requested.

You will be an ambitious and resilient Plumber and will bring with you;
- Experience working as an HVAC Technician
- Able to work unsupervised while providing safe and quality work
- Must have a full class one Driver’s license
- Physically fit and agile, able to carry out regular bending and lifting tasks
- Appreciation of fundamental aspects of business, including operation and basic financial
