We currently have a vacancy for applicants with strong administrative abilities to work as Property Officer, joining the busy team that manages the personal property of the people we manage, as they arrive into and depart from our site.
The Property Officer is based in the Receiving Office within the Facility. They are primarily responsible for overseeing the accurate collation, collection and recording of all property received or sent out.
Please note that the general working title for this role across the organisation and within our Collective Agreement is that of Administration Support Officer. The Job Description as attached reflects this and encompasses various administrative positions including that of Property Officer.

Success as a Property Officer will be dependent upon your;
- Excellent work ethic including strong time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work well within a team environment.
- Sound working knowledge of MS Word/Excel and Outlook, with excellent written and verbal language skills
- Good physical health as heavy lifting is required (nothing over 20kg)
- Great face-to-face people skills i.e. your ability to interact confidently and professionally with people from a diverse range of cultures is essential
- Understanding of our work environment and the safety protocols required
- Ability to learn new skills quickly, follow instructions and having the courage to ask relevant question
- Strong attention to detail i.e. being team, solution and compliance focused

The Property Officer at Christchurch Women's Prison will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Shift hours are 7am-4pm. We have free car-parking on-site. An initial uniform allowance is supplied that will enable you to order Corrections clothing suitable for this role should you wish to take up this option.
