Learning Adventures Maraenui is looking for a new centre cook who is passionate about food and the importance nutrition plays in the lives of our tamariki. Our children rely on you to give them the fuel to get them through their busy days.

Who are we?

Learning Adventures Maraenui is a custom built centre that caters for up to 60, 2-5 year olds. Our love of the natural world and passion for sustainability is expressed through beautiful outdoor spaces filled with fruit trees and vegetable gardens; while our spacious indoor areas are vibrant and engaging. Our strong whanau focus and inclusive welcoming atmosphere ensures everyone at Learning Adventures Maraeuni feels a sense of belonging.

Who are you?

You ideally have menu preparation experience; a current Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not essential; experience cooking for large groups or previous experience in an early childhood centre; you are a passionate and intuitive chef, open and responsive to the constantly changing needs of our tamariki; you are comfortable working autonomously and as part of a team - your day will encompass both.

You will be responsible for complete management of the kitchen including:

- Stock control and ordering
- Engagement with children and teachers at mealtimes
- Managing multiple different dietary requirements
- Cleanness of the kitchen area

This role requires energy, passion and commitment to the team ethos.

The role is Monday - Friday, 25 hours per week
