We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Crime Monitoring Centre based in Wellington as a Monitor. The Crime Monitoring Centre (CMC) operates 24/7 and provides services to nationwide investigators and The National Organised Crime Group. The CMC is part of the National Criminal Investigations Group. You will be assisting NZ Police with the investigations of criminal activity using leading edge technology. You will be monitoring, analysing, and summarising important information with the goal of contributing to reducing organised crime and resolution of serious criminal investigations in New Zealand.

You will be supported throughout your journey in a role that is incredibly interesting, insightful, and fulfilling. The team works in partnership with individuals, communities, and other public sector agencies to achieve our vision of Safer Communities Together and we are looking for motivated individuals to assist us along the way.

Many of our monitors have gone on to become Sworn Police Officers or into other great roles within our organisation, this role has given them a strong insight into the world of Policing.

The Crime Monitoring Centre operates 24/7 and you will be working a 2/2/2 shift roster including weekends and stat days which is 6.45am - 4.45pm, 1.00pm - 11.00pm, 10.15pm - 7.00am followed by 4 days off to relax. You will also receive a shift allowance when working on Saturday, Sunday, or weekdays between 6.00pm - 6.00am on top of your base salary along with leave and salary allowances for working on Stat Holidays.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Experience in analysing, summarising information and producing well-structured fluent written reports.
- Identify and evaluate relevant and critical information.
- Produce accurate, concise and well-constructed written summaries using correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Special Requirements - To be considered for this role, you must be able to:

- Undergo and pass a full reference and vetting check prior to an offer of employment.
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a ‘Secret’ level security clearance. This requirement means you must have resided in one of the following countries for the last ten consecutive years: New Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, or United States of America.
- Must pass a written and listening comprehension test.
- Must reside in Wellington region
