Senior Adviser External Stakeholders

Te tūranga - The role The Strategy, Governance and Sustainability Group are on the hunt for a Senior Adviser, External Stakeholders to help ensure our communication messages are consistent, of high quality, and target key audiences and stakeholders. This person will develop a deep understanding and knowledge of Te Pūtea Matua's strategic plans and objectives to design and leads effective communisation plans and programmes. Reporting to the Manager External Stakeholders, this role will primarily support the Reserve Bank's Financial Stability Group, including Supervision, Prudential Policy, and Enforcement. You will:
- Lead, anticipate and provide timely and appropriate communication advice to business partners on how to best utilise integrated communications and communications channels to deliver against business objectives.
- Proactively lead and enhance written content for external communication material such as news and media releases, talking points, briefings and other communication content that delivers our key messages to the media and other external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with managers and directors and relevant members of RBNZ's Executive Leadership Team to support delivery of business priorities.
- Be a lead contact point and manage media queries and briefings for stakeholders, including media briefings and press conferences.
- Work in partnership with the Government and Industry Relations team to deliver the RBNZ's external speech programme and assist business areas in the drafting of speeches on the RBNZ's activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media, and proactively manage the media and provide advice on media engagements in order to protect and enhance the RBNZ's reputation.
Ō pūkenga - About you You will have experience at a senior communications level and be able to develop and deliver customer focused communications, plans, strategies and tactics.' You will have a strong ability to influence effectively across an organisation and understand the importance of building effective relationships with your stakeholders.' You have a courage and determination that sees you challenging current practices, and you are passionate about building stories and narratives that are both engaging and informative.' In addition to this you will have;
- Relevant tertiary education in communications or related discipline
- An interest and ability to be able to develop their knowledge in economics, financial markets, and/or finance.
- Strong understanding of the requirements of the news media and an interest in the news and reputation management.
- Strong writing and communication skills and an ability to write clearly and concisely for non-technical audiences tailoring messages to different audiences.
- Ability to work independently, strong organisational skills, results-focused and an ability to lead and manage multiple priorities.
