Pay rates will depend on skills and experience ranging from $26.69 to $30 and there is immediate start available for the right person. It is permanent employment based on assured 30 workings hours a week. The work will be carried out across Wellington.

**What you will do?**
- Implementing routine work associated with painting and plastering
- Erecting scaffolding and ladders; setting up ventilators and other safety equipment to protect painting technicians from unhealthy fumes
- Mixing and matching paint, stain and other finishes as directed
- Covering trim, floors, furniture and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings
- Removing old finish using scrapers, chemical compounds or other stripping equipment
- Preparing surfaces to be painted by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding them
- Cutting and hanging wallpaper, vinyl and backing paper as directed
- Following safeguards, rules and regulations

**To be considered for this role you must meet the following criteria**:

- Basic math skills with a high school or above qualification
- Basic knowledge of painting material and how to select and mix them
- Ability in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.) and in various heights and spaces while observing all safety measures.
- Physical strength, stamina and dexterity.
- Conscientious with great attention to detail
- Time management skills to ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
- Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and police vetting
- Knowledge of all the applicable health and safety standards.
- Be flexible working weekends, night times required for some projects.
