What we need?

An opportunity has become available for a Site Security Officer to join us at Linfox In this newly created role with you reporting to, and work closely with, the NZ Security & Asset Protection Officer and will have the opportunity to make this role your own.

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring Linfox Head Office & Verissimo Distribution Centre (VDC) premises and contents are safe and secure, to minimise avoidable stock loss, conduct investigations, and provide day-to-day coordination of a small contract Security Guard team.

Key position responsibilities and accountabilities:

- Maintain a strong visible physical presence on the floor within the warehouses.
- Promote a Loss Prevention culture within VDC.
- Investigate stock loss as required.
- Coordinate with the APO on security investigations and prepare reports as required.
- Oversee guarding operations in the DC. Delegate guards to take responsibility for various tasks as priorities change and workload fluctuates.
- Ensure CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Detection, and other security equipment is operational and maintained.
- Support the guarding team as required - including monitoring CCTV, barrier arms, gates and intercoms.
- Manage Access Control / Cards onsite for employees, visitors and contractors.
- Follow-up on all outstanding or escalated issues / tasks as raised by APO or from Shift Reports.
- Ensure foot patrols and/or mobile patrols occur to identify, report, and action Security concerns.
- Identify and investigate potential opportunities for breaches of company policies / procedures and take appropriate action to minimise risk.
- Have a working knowledge of NZ H&S regulations and company policy, escalating safety concerns to the H&S team as required.

Successful applicants will need:

- Experience in a similar position (loss prevention/security/investigations)
- 2 years+ supervisory/management experience
- Experience working in a warehouse/inventory environment with SAP knowledge - desirable, however, not essential as this can be learned.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- The ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions.

In addition to above experience, you will also demonstrate; a knack for problem solving, excellent communication skills, offer flexibility and show initiative.
