1.0 FTE permanent full-time position available for an experienced Clinical Coder.
- Should hold a Health Information Association of Australia (HIMAA) Certificate in Clinical Coding.
- Previous use of a hospital Patient Management System will be advantageous as well as familiarity with MS Office Suite.

This role would suit someone with a medical background who is seeking a change while still utilising their medical knowledge. We want you to be actively involved in all areas associated with health data including front line coding and clinical liaison activities. You will have strong investigative skills and thrive in the clinical environment while also having the enthusiasm for making positive change and quality improvement.

**_ The Role:_** Where you fit in**

You will join our team based at Christchurch Hospital on a full-time basis. As a Clinical Coder, you will have the responsibility of providing timely and accurate ICD-10-AM diagnosis and procedure coding for all patients discharged from the hospital in accordance with the requirements of Te Whatu Ora Health NZ and the Ministry of Health.

You will have a strong work ethic, show a dedication and commitment to meeting deadlines regularly and have the ability to cope with pressure. You’re someone who can be held accountable for producing high quality work and has the flexibility to work professionally in a team environment with little or no supervision. You will also be prepared to undertake ongoing education as required and looking to continue with your professional development.

The successful applicant will then complete a facilitated competency-based education programme provided by the Te Whatu Ora Health NZ Clinical Coding Service.
