As our Materiel Planner & Purchaser, you will step into a diverse and energetic environment and join our Defence Equipment Management Organisation (DEMO) team. Your key focus will be to manage and maintain inventory for the New Zealand Defence Force.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Materiel requirements planning (MRP), purchasing and inventory functions.
- Managing inventory levels within SAP.
- Creating and monitoring of Purchase Orders.
- Maintaining and updating SAP inventory Data and Records.
- Handling invoices, including reconciliation, freight and purchase orders.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
This role is based in Trentham Army Camp.

You will be an effective communicator with a strong attention to detail and the ability to build strong rapport with the team. You will bring out of the box thinking, a willingness to learn and a commitment to helping and supporting the wider team during busy periods.
**Other requirements**:
- Team player, motivated and willing to learn.
- Strong organisation skills, adaptable and a problem solver.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good computer skills including MS Office Suite.
- It's beneficial, but not necessary to have experience in purchasing, inventory, SAP or ERP.

To be eligible for the required level of government security clearance with the NZ Defence Force, you need to meet certain citizenship and residency criteria. Here's what you need to know:
Low Level Security Clearance
- You must be a New Zealand citizen or you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa.
- At minimum, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last five (5) years.
- You must have a five (5) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
