**A BIT ABOUT PUKE TE AND TE WHITI STATIONS**

Puke Te and Te Whiti Stations are a family-owned farming business and part of a larger farming operation being Totaranui Angus. These two farms bound one another and are located in the Wainuioru district, just ten minutes from Masterton. They are both high performing sheep and beef breeding and finishing properties and offer a mix of flat through to steep hill country. The owners have well established farming policies and have two other blocks within their business.

**THE OPPORTUNITY**

As a result of some recent changes to structure, the Owners are now on the lookout for a reliable and enthusiastic Shepherd for each of the two farms. Reporting to a Stock Manager on each farm, the Shepherds will assist the Stock Manager with the daily operational tasks on farm including animal handling, animal health & welfare, general farm repairs and maintenance.

This is a hands-on role where the Shepherds can work without supervision on most of the key responsibilities. There will be some general work, with key focus areas being fencing and water systems. Some previous experience in ag work and tractor operation would be beneficial, although not necessary.

**A BIT ABOUT YOU**

Along with relevant experience and a passion for the industry the successful applicant will come with the following skills:

- Good stockmanship and a team of capable fully broken in dogs.
- An understanding of animal health principles and attention to detail with regard to administering animal health remedies.
- Ability to carry out basic repairs and maintenance tasks.
- H&S knowledge and a common-sense approach to daily tasks.
- Strong work ethic, and ability to work alone and as part of a wider team.

Wainuioru boasts a strong and active rural community, with a primary school and a local playgroup just 5 minutes away. There is an easy commute to town, 40 minutes from the coast and heaps of hunting nearby.
