Join our Service Investment and Programming leadership tīma. We are passionate about producing great outcomes for Aucklanders through planning community services and facilities in Tāmaki Makaurau.

**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**

The Service Investment and Programming unit have committed to review each local board’s service property portfolio. This mahi supports changes in local board decision-making, Fairer Funding for local boards and the LTP 2024-34 direction that considers how to leverage investment in our parks and community services portfolio.

The portfolio review will analyse local boards’ service asset portfolios, identify opportunities for change, and drive improved performance within the constraints of capital and operational investment capabilities. The outcomes of the review will inform our advice to local boards to ensure their service asset portfolios are managed sustainably as our communities change.

This is a new approach for our team, one that we recognise will deliver long term value and service outcomes for local communities. As the **Investment Process Lead**, you will ensure that the right processes and frameworks are put in place to enable our team to provide advice that is actionable and can be delivered. Te Kaunihera o Tāmaki Makaurau is a complex organisation, we work across multiple teams and with partners in our council-controlled organisations. We are often defining process as we shape up advice, which can influence delivery times. The Investment Process Lead will work closely with the Portfolio Review project team and colleagues within the organisation to determine areas for improvement and important factors to delivering our advice.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

We are looking for someone with experience delivering improvement projects with significant impact for communities. Our work is focussed on achieving great outcomes for Tāmaki Makaurau, you will work quickly to understand areas for simplification and where improvements can be made to enable our advice to deliver on these outcomes.

You will have strong stakeholder and relationship management skills and the ability to create clarity within a diverse political environment. You will enjoy working in a collaborative and flexible team environment, bring experience of change management and continuous improvement, and demonstrate innovative thinking.

Knowledge of Auckland Council’s strategic plans and policies, te reo and tikanga Māori, and how the Local Government (Auckland Council) Act 2009 impacts on option assessment and decision-making would be highly advantageous.

Ideally, you are excited by the opportunity to join a team with a collaborative culture that celebrates diversity, and to help shape the future of community service advice.

**Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer**

If you’re looking for your next challenge and are interested in building your experience in local government, this could be the ideal opportunity. It’s a highly covetable chance to be involved in a new and exciting approach to sustainable community service delivery across Tāmaki Makaurau.

We offer a flexible working schedule, long service leave, learning and development opportunities, study leave, and 16 weeks paid parental leave. We believe that diversity is a strength and by embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion this allows us to build a dynamic team. We strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.

If this sounds like the perfect role for you, but you don’t quite match all the stated job requirements, please tell us in your own words how your skills or competences would support the team. Above all, your mindset and attitude is everything, you don’t need to ‘tick all the boxes’. We would love to discuss the innovative thinking you could bring to the role.
