**About the role**

The Midland Portt team are seeking an enthusiastic Container Surveyor to work at our Container Depot located in Jones Road, Rolleston.

Midland Port currently operates 16.5 hours, 5 days per week. Midland Port is a storage and repair facility for containers prior to their release either to our customers or to the Port.

You will spend most of your time on your feet and working outdoors, assessing containers for damage and referring them either to our container repairs department, or advising our clients they are suitable for the intended use. It is essential that you are physically fit and able to complete physically demanding work.

With an eye for detail, you will be able to quickly assess what repairs are needed and will be good at calculating measurements and time required to make the repairs. You will provide estimates to clients, will have a strong customer focus and will possess an ability to pick up new skills with ease.

Working as part of a team, you will be provided with a high level of training that will ensure you have the skills to perform in this role.

**About you**
- Have a basic knowledge and use of power tools
- Basic welding skills would be an advantage
- Have a strong health and safety focus
- Have a good level of physical fitness and enjoy working outdoors
- Knowledge within the container repair industry would be an advantage
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Has a flexible approach to hours of work that support dynamic business requirements
