**About the role**:
Due to expansion, Sime Darby Motors Group is now recruiting for a
**Permanent fulltime Health Specialist** to join our diverse and inclusive Safety & Sustainability Team in
**Christchurch** or
**Auckland** Head office.
The primary responsibility of this role will be to lead the development and support the implementation and standardisation of organisational health and wellbeing strategies in Sime Darby Motors Group, including but not limited to, fitness for work processes, occupational health surveillance and monitoring, injury prevention (physical and psychological), health promotion programs and as required injury management in targeted businesses.
Reporting to the
**_Health and wellbeing Manager_**:
- ,_ as a professional in your field, your role will also involve the following key duties:
- Utilising evidence-based research lead the development of a framework to support business units in delivering a contemporary employee health and wellbeing strategy.
- Where assessments have taken place (individual, environmental or other), oversee and interpret results, liaising with internal stakeholder groups, including safety, HR and line management to undertake risk based decision making and risk mitigation.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key health suppliers.
- Lead the development of initiatives in targeted business units to reduce injury risks, including but not limited to hazardous chemicals, manual task and psychological harm risks.
- Provide expertise, advice, direction and coaching to Sime Darby Berhad internal stakeholders, including Managers and Supervisors, HSE leads, advisors and representative and HR in all facets of occupational health, wellbeing and injury management.
**Essential requirements**
The successful applicant will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and attributes:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a practicing Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional,
- Advanced understanding of ACC legislation, rehabilitation and return to work processes
- Strong relationship building interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Superior time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to undertake appropriate professional and personal development programs to maintain knowledge and skills for management and clinical competency
Previous exposure to mining/heavy equipment industries and the legislation and regulations they operate within will be advantageous.
