**Āu Mahi | What You Will Do**

Our Residential Advisors | Taurima live onsite amongst our Residents | Kainoho support them through their studies while living on Campus. If you are passionate about making a difference in our community, love where you live and care about people and the kind of experiences they have, then this role is for you

**As a Residential Advisor | Taurima, you will**:

- Support Kainoho | Residents of your Kahui within the Hall
- Support the delivery of active and passive residential experience and support programmes
- Utilise your excellent communication skills amongst the community
- Lead the way as a positive role model
- Support the day-to-day operations of a safe and inclusive environment
- Refer Kainoho to University support services

Our RAs | Taurima role is challenging yet a very rewarding experience. We have 4 RA | Taurima positions available throughout our UniLodge Halls in Canterbury for 2023.

**Mōu | Who You Are**

You will be a ‘can do’, successful tertiary education student who would have completed at least one year of study. To be successful as an RA | Taurima you will:

- A demonstrated capacity for leadership and maturity.
- An ability to respond to difficult or challenging situations in a calm and responsible manner while following all appropriate procedures.
- Have empathy with the diverse issues faced by university tauria | students and an appreciation of the needs of kainoho in student accommodation.
- Excellent communication skills
- High level of creativity and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to interact with residents of many different cultures and backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and with mínimal supervision.
- Have flexible availability to meet the training and rostering requirements, including during weekends.

**Mahi Ngātahi | Who You Will Work With**

The UniLodge Waitaha | Canterbury team is responsible for Tupuānuku, University Hall, Ilam Apartments, Sonoda, Hayashi and Kirkwood Avenue Hall, a community that totals around 2200 kainoho. We are a team hard-working team focused on innovation, mahi tahi, creating meaningful shared experiences and being responsible guardians for place, space and the people that use it.
